The Curriculum Project - Slum Edition
Dharavi, the largest slum of Asia, has a population of over a 1 million and population density of 717,780/sq mi. Sustainability is a dream for slum dwellers who struggle to make ends meet, but sustainability is the necessity of the hour, especially with the exorbitantly high population density.
Using a similar psychology-based approach that we developed for the schools, we navigated the thin lanes of Dharavi and Dahisar slums to foster behavioral change regarding environmental action among adolescent girls. We’ve educated 250+ girls till now.
All our interventions also focus on empowering these young girls to challenge the status quo about environmental action in their homes by encouraging their family members to care about sustainability too!
